Somatic Exploration
During the first part of the Sound and Somatics method, my clients are guided through a process of somatic enquiry to explore and describe their issue using the language of sensation, colours, shapes and more. The practice of doing this shifts the focus to the ‘here and now’ and how the issue is presenting somatically (in the body).
The process helps to separate clients from their thinking mind because so many are stuck in their heads, attached to their past, limiting beliefs and subsequent behaviours that may not be serving them. In this method there is a lot that can be done to connect deeper to the body and release limitations without having to cognitively process the past and its stories.
Over time, being able to witness our experience from a somatic-based perspective helps to create new habits of relating and responding to issues that show up in life.
